Today, the City of Laredo observes Juneteenth National Independence Day, a federal holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States and honoring the enduring values of freedom, equality, and opportunity for all.

City of Laredo administrative offices are closed today, June 19. Regular operations will resume on Monday, June 22, 2026. Essential public safety and emergency services remain in operation.

As we observe this day, we recognize the importance of reflecting on our nation’s history and the continued pursuit of liberty and justice for all.
