Happy Presidents Day! Presidents’ Day honors all past presidents of the United States of America. Presidents’ Day or officially known as, Washington’s Birthday, is an American Federal Holiday that is celebrated yearly on the third Monday of February. Initially established as a federal holiday in 1885 to celebrate George Washington’s birthday on the 22nd of February, it was changed in 1971 when it became known simply as Presidents’ Day. It has been a tradition for decades for “George Washington’s Farewell Address” to be read in the Senate annually.

SPK Super Bowl Party!! It’s game day! One Super Bowl Game! Two Teams! One League! One Goal!

Our students celebrated last week their Super Bowl Party in advance of this past Sunday Super Bowl. They did various activities in class that included math as well as other educational activities. They ended the week by doing having their own party and choosing their favorite team to win. Our students chose was the Eagles 9 to 8 votes.

Thank you to all the children, parents and staff that made this past week theme and party a success.

Nuestros estudiantes celebraron la semana pasada su fiesta del Super Bowl antes del Super Bowl del domingo pasado. Hicieron diversas actividades en clase que incluían matemáticas y otras actividades educativas. Terminaron la semana organizando su propia fiesta y eligiendo a su equipo favorito para ganar. Nuestros estudiantes escogieron los Eagles por 9 a 8 votos.

Gracias a todos los niños, padres y personal que hicieron que el tema y la fiesta de la semana pasada fueran un éxito.

Friendly reminder that this February is American Heart Month. Students may wear red every Friday of the month of February. We wear red to raise awareness about heart disease and how it is highly preventable.
