π May 2026 Monthly Activity Report π
As we move into the summer months, the Laredo Fire Department remains committed to protecting our community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our firefighters, paramedics, inspectors, and support personnel continue to answer the call whenever help is needed, ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents.
With temperatures rising and more families spending time outdoors, now is the perfect time to focus on summer safety:
βοΈ Beat the Heat
β’ Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day.
β’ Avoid prolonged outdoor activity during peak afternoon temperatures.
β’ Never leave children, elderly individuals, or pets inside parked vehicles, even for a short period.
π₯ Outdoor Fire Safety
β’ Keep grills at least 10 feet away from homes, fences, and combustible materials.
β’ Never leave a grill, fire pit, or outdoor flame unattended.
β’ Properly extinguish charcoal and outdoor fires before leaving the area.
π Water Safety
β’ Always supervise children around pools, lakes, and other bodies of water.
β’ Ensure barriers and gates around pools are secure.
β’ Wear life jackets when participating in water activities.
π Travel Safely
β’ Buckle up every trip, every time.
β’ Avoid distracted driving and put your phone away while behind the wheel.
β’ Be extra cautious around pedestrians, cyclists, and work zones.
