Checking a client concern, no crank no start. On this vehicle there was no lights or power inside the vehicle with the key turned on, we ended up removing the panel under the steering wheel to check the wiring and ended up finding the ignition switch to be unplugged and the wiring seemed to have been messed with at some point along with pry marks to the switch housing. The client mentioned that they recently bought the vehicle and were having issues when it just didn't start or do anything. Originally we assumed it was the starter but upon further diagnosing we found the issue.

2015 Toyota Sienna 3.5L
On this vehicle we are replacing several components, fist we replaced the radiator fan assembly which on this vehicle was quite simple, upper radiator hose was removed for replacement. Second: we did the spark plugs, for this one we did remove the upper intake manifold to get to the spark plugs in the rear of the engine along with one ignition coil. Lastly we replaced the blower motor located under the glove compartment in the dash.

Fuel tank and Fuel pump replacement, currently we are dropping the tank to replace it along with the Fuel pump.

On this vehicle we are going to be replacing several components, first was the radiator fan assembly, that was simple and straight forward. Next we started to do the spark plugs, for that service we do have to remove the upper intake manifold to reach the spark plugs in the rear of the engine. The gaskets for the manifold will be replaced, any time you do any work on your vehicle which requires parts that have gaskets to be taken off always replace the gasket. Lastly we are going to replace the blower motor for the front a.c located under the glove compartment.

Front brake service, new pads and rotors along with brake pad wear indicator wires, a new caliper for the passenger side; we also bled the brakes.

We originally got called out for a brake bleed which turned into a front brake service along with replacing the front passenger caliper. We are still going to do the brake bleed after we install new pads and disc's for the front brakes.

on this vehicle we are working out the kinks, we did end up rebuilding the alternator, it is charging marvelously. The other issue we were taking care of was an intermittent starting issue, we diagnosed it as a bad starter solenoid causing it to hesitate upon starting. The issue now is that we are not pulling up gas from the tank. we noticed that after using a different fuel pump on the system and having the same issue. we ended up using a gas can as the tank for testing purposes and the vehicle starts and charges with no issue. we are leaning towards sediment or rust clogging the lines of the system causing fuel to not pass through the lines.

Rebuilding an Alternator
For this client i am using an Alternator we had from an old build to rebuild his. The issue we came across is that the engine is not original to the vehicle so we are having trouble locating the correct alternator for it now on this one we were able to use parts of an alternator we had to rebuild his alternator.
At the local parts store they do not have rebuild kits for alternators on hand, if they are able to get them they do need the vehicle specs or the part number on the alternator. Unfortunately we don't have either one of those. This was the faster way to get this alternator working and the vehicle running again.
