On many of my visits with Michael in San Ygnacio, we would sit in his studio and contemplate his latest paintings, always with classical music playing in the background and conversations interspersed with long moments of silence. He shared the Black paintings with me as they progressed as well as the Marigold paintings, always requesting my reactions. The depth of Michael’s genius is all the more obvious when his work is displayed in a museum setting. What a celebration of the essence of Michael Tracey!
