This week I was honored to be asked to share a few words at this year's Texas Department of Transportation - Laredo Click It or Ticket campaign announcement. Through May 31st, law enforcement is intensifying efforts to spread national awareness about seatbelt safety.

It was a privilege to answer the students' questions and share some insight into my world.
Navigating career choices can be tough, so I’m happy to play a small part in sharing some guidance.
Also, I loved getting to see the amazing work being done by the other organizations in attendance. Learning never stops!

This morning I had the important task of speaking at the National Supervised Visitation Awareness Month Proclamation. It was an important day to bring attention to a necessary resource in our community... The Webb County Safe Haven Program.
We heard a powerful testimonial from just one of the 768 families served by this program, reminding us of the real impact this work has on lives every day.
Supervised visitation and exchanges are not a last resort, they are a vital stepping stone toward creating a safe, healthy path to reunification between children and their non-custodial parents.
To the advocates and relentless staff who make this possible, THANK YOU!

A big congratulations to last night’s recipients of my Partners in Education Scholarship. Investing in our students is truly an investment in the future of our community.
