💜 Su***de Awareness Month 💜

This morning my office supported our community partners in proclaiming September as Su***de Awareness Month.
Although it is a commitment we carry every day and every month of the year, September gives us an important opportunity to pause, bring awareness to the forefront, start conversations, break the stigma, and remind those around us that they are seen, valued, and supported.
988 is a lifeline, but you can be one to! Each of us has the power to make a difference. A simple conversation, checking in on someone, listening without judgment, offering encouragement, or simply letting someone know you care can have a meaningful impact.

Wishing all of our students, parents, teachers, and staff a safe, successful, and exciting new school year!

A reminder as we welcome our children back to school... I encourage everyone in our community to be cautious, patient, and mindful on our roadways. School buses will be back on their routes, children will be crossing streets, and school zones will once again be active!

Welcome back, and let's make safety our top priority! 📚🚌🍎

Braving the Laredo heat and summer sun, this amazing crew remains committed to raising awareness about su***de prevention and crisis support. Thank you Area Health Education Center for inviting us to join your mission and for all that you do! Let us all break the stigma, spread hope, and let others know they are never alone. 💜🩵💜🩵;

Stand with us to raise awareness for the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline!

This morning, my office continued our mission of sending our students back to school worry-free by providing them with the supplies they need for a successful school year.
A heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Fernando Salinas Community Center and the office of Commissioner Ricky Jaime for their invitation and hospitality!

One backpack at a time, we are dedicated to ensuring local students have the tools they need for a successful year in the classroom. Today staff was at Marcos J. Arandas Boxing Gym helping distribute school supplies as the community prepares for back to school. Thank you to the hard working staff at Lilia Perez Community Center and Commissioner Ricky Jaime for a successful event!

A happy and safe Independence Day to everyone! 🇺🇸

It’s okay not to be okay, but you don’t have to carry it alone. 🧠💚.

This week I was honored to be asked to share a few words at this year's Texas Department of Transportation - Laredo Click It or Ticket campaign announcement. Through May 31st, law enforcement is intensifying efforts to spread national awareness about seatbelt safety.
🚨 We remind our community that buckling up isn't just a habit, it's a lifelong commitment to our and our loved one's safety! 🚗💡
