🚨 2026 DOT Blitz Week: International Roadcheck 🚨
📅 Dates: May 12–14, 2026 (72-hour inspection event)

The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) will conduct its annual North American inspection blitz across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

🔍 Focus Areas:
* ELD Compliance: Ensuring electronic logs are up to date and valid.
* Cargo Securement: Proper blocking, bracing, and tie-downs.

🛠 Inspection Type:
* Level I Inspection: A rigorous 37-step full driver and vehicle inspection.

⚠️ Important Notice:
* The new Out-of-Service Criteria (effective April 1, 2026) will be strictly enforced.
* Expect significant delays at weigh stations and inspection points.

✅ Stay Prepared:
* Ensure your ELD is working properly.
* Secure all cargo correctly (check your straps and chains!).
* Carry all required documents (CDL, medical card, logs).
* Conduct a thorough pre-trip: Inspect tires, brakes, and lights.

What the rule allows (FMCSA 395.1(b)):
🔹 +2 hrs driving time
🔹 +2 hrs on-duty time
