Bloom High School in Chicago Heights, Illinois, has been named an EduGuide National Model School by EduGuide, This designation reflects the commitment of the school’s students and leaders to building a positive school climate through acts of mentorship. Dr. Jerry Lee Anderson, principal, with assistant principals Elizabeth Santiago and Marcus Lyke, were presented with the award and banner during a ceremony on November 14.

The fourth Saturday of October is . EduGuide students make a difference every day through acts of mentoring and encouragement. Within their schools, families, and communities, students have made a difference more than a million times! This spring, EduGuide honored the LaJoya Independent School District in Texas and their students for completing more than 50,000 mentoring acts. EduGuide is proud of our role in helping students, teachers, and administrators make a difference in this world.

FALL WEBINAR: Growing anxiety is eroding engagement, wellbeing, and achievement for both students and staff. So, in our next webinar we’ll look at how a school reversed the anxiety spiral. They started a simple 15-minute habit. Each week students chose an EduGuide challenge to help another student. It reengaged students, reduced absenteeism, and improved behavior -- leading CASEL to place EduGuide in their top-tier of evidence-based interventions.
