Sunnybrook library discussion raises student access, staffing questions - The Lansing Journal 08/03/2026

📚 Please take a moment to read the article below. We'd love to hear your thoughts.
As a district, we've talked a lot about improving literacy and raising reading scores. But if we're truly committed to that goal, we also have to invest in the people who make it possible.
Our district helped fund an educator's certification as a school librarian, yet we are choosing not to utilize that expertise. A certified school librarian does far more than check out books—they teach information literacy, support classroom instruction, foster a love of reading, and help students develop lifelong learning skills. No other role can fully replace that expertise.
Our students deserve that investment. After reading the article, let us know your thoughts and join the conversation.

Donate to Help The Magaña Family Rebuild After Tornado, organized by Laura - Ernesto Magana 07/30/2026

Today, we are asking our community to come together for one of our own.
One of our district families lost everything in the tornado. In just a matter of moments, their lives were turned upside down, and now they are facing the unimaginable task of starting over.
If you're able, please consider donating to their GoFundMe. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help provide hope and support as they begin to rebuild. If you can't donate, sharing their GoFundMe is another meaningful way to help.
Our schools are more than buildings—we are a family. When one of our families is hurting, we come together to lift them up. Thank you for keeping them in your thoughts and prayers and for showing them the compassion that makes our community so special. ❤️
