We formed the Hope for Huruma Foundation, a nonprofit that spreads awareness and fundraises to send its proceeds back to the children of Huruma.
Imagine being born into a world consumed by poverty, poor health, HIV/AIDS and massive unemployment. Now imagine being unable to care for your own children as a result of these factors. In Kenya, as in many other African nations, this is the reality people live with on a daily basis. Upon visiting Huruma Children’s Home in Ngong Hills, Kenya, I was able to experience firsthand the sadness that the
🌱 At Huruma, we are investing in today, and for the future of these kids in their Heart, Mind, Body, and Soul.
• 🚜 Gatune Farm Agricultural Program — equipping children with practical skills to cultivate the land and build sustainable futures right here on earth
• 📚 National Exams — celebrating academic excellence and opening doors of opportunity for every child to reach their God-given potential
• ✝️ The Gospel, Every Day — faith isn’t just practiced on Sunday, it’s woven into the rhythm of daily life at Huruma, shaping hearts for eternity in the Kingdom of God.
Because a child’s future doesn’t stop at the horizon, it stretches all the way into eternity. 🙏

🫓 Food, and Care are given to the children on a daily basis.
📚 The children are given an education, and participate in National exams.
⚽️ Of course play is essential in child development, and the soccer games here are unmatched.
🥬An orphanage who grows their own food?? You bet. We have a great group of students who just went through agricultural training to work and tend our farm - Gatune.
💵 With just $40 you can be a part of ensuring one of these kids is fed and clothed and educated and cared for.

From sunrise to lights-out, the Aunties at Huruma Children’s Home hold the home together. They cook and comfort, correct and cheer. They show up when it would be easier not to. Just look at the few pieces of this reel and you can see that they are irreplaceable.

This incredible group, made up of 7 former children of Huruma and their supervisor, are now employed at Gatune Farm, which is being developed to provide food and generate income to help sustain the home. 🌱
