Reminder: today is Primary Election Day. Remember to vote! Polling locations are open until 8 pm! You can also still drop off your absentee ballot if you have one. If you change your mind and want to vote in person, you must bring your absentee ballot with you to turn in blank. Have a great Election Day!

I had the honor of introducing John James for Governor today in Traverse City. I have endorsed John for Governor in Michigan. We need someone with leadership and experience who will appoint qualified people to run the State Departments.

Wow, we voted today to hold ourselves accountable for not passing a budget. HJR M would have withheld legislative pay after a budget deadline has passed. We needed 73 votes to get it in the state constitution. All Republicans voted for it and most of the Democrats voted against it. This resolution would have made the House and Senate get serious about the work needed to get a state budget deal passed.
