Event promotion has become something I’ve focused on over the years, and it’s definitely some of my favorite work to do!

This summer I’ve been lucky enough to create the posters and event cover photos for the live music and events happening at Fish Ladder Music Park through Lansing Riverfront and the Community Foundation.

Music from Americana to country to funk to 90s, live bands to family events... It's fun to change gears constantly and create something that fits the personality of each event while still keeping everything connected.

I thought this was a pretty interesting read, especially for those working in social media or marketing.

More conversations are happening in DMs and group chats. People want actual experiences and communities instead of constantly being marketed to. And likes and follower counts might not tell us nearly as much as we think they do.

One stat that really jumped out at me: 70% of Gen Z engagement on Instagram happens through DMs and private story replies.

Definitely something to think about when we’re creating content. Would people want to share it with friends in the group chat?
