Lansing Chapter members turned out in full force for the 126th State Conference!

Another one in the books! Lansing Chapter’s float was well received at the 79th annual Ox Roast Parade. Many thanks to all our members who made it happen, and a big thank you to the HODAR who pulled the float, the HODAR who built the boat, and the ROMEOs (Retired Old Men Eating Out) who got the boat across the Delaware. Until next year……

Members of the Lansing Chapter participated in the annual St. Johns Grand Mint Parade on Aug 8 with a float depicting 3 scenes - John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin editing the Declaration of Independence, Washington crossing the Delaware, and Betsy Ross & helpers working on the 13 stars (Betsy Ross) flag.

Organized by the Lansing Chapter, a public reading of the Declaration of Independence was held on July 8 at the Ingham County courthouse in Mason Michigan. The program featured appearances by historical characters, Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, Martha Washington and Betsy Ross, adding a dramatic and educational dimension to the event. More than 150 attendees gathered at the courthouse, including representatives from three television stations covering the ceremony. Participating organizations included the Lansing Chapter, Ephraim Chapter, SAR, the Mason area, Historical Society, and the Looking Glass Chapter Colonial Dames 17th century.

Lansing Chapter's May meeting was jam-packed. The Memorial Service remembered two chapter daughters. Following the service, the regular meeting was help. The Kasch Board was installed. Camille Subject was honored for her four years as Chapter Regent. Camille complemented the chapter on the many awards received at State Awards Day and gave individual awards to those in attendance.

The Seven Deadly Sins from the DAR Museum were explained to all in a delightful program given by Museum Docent Gail Pietrzyk.
