May 21, 2018- MICHIGAN: One Fair Wage Campaign turns in approximately 378,000 signatures to the Bureau of Elections in Lansing today. The campaign seeks to gradually raise Michigan’s minimum wage for all workers to $12 an hour. It does not eliminate tipping. “It’s time for a fair wage for everyone,” said Tracy Pease, a server from Hazel Park. “Some people do just fine with our current system, but too many workers like me face harassment and uncertainty. This proposal will allow me to keep my tips while having a wage that allows me to plan ahead and qualify for loans that will help me have the opportunity to get ahead.”
