💯Michigan, get the facts! Nearly a quarter of children in Michigan receive SNAP benefits.

Did you know? As of December 2025, nearly a quarter (22.5%) of children ages 0-18 in Michigan benefit from the Food Assistance Program (FAP) that helps families below the federal poverty level afford groceries. On a national level, this program is known as the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP).

Displaying SNAP rates by county illustrates how this program is essential for both rural and urban families in Michigan. Since the passage of the so-called "One Big, Beautiful Bill Act" (OBBBA), SNAP participation rates have decreased across the country. These decreased rates are likely fueled, in part, by OBBBA implementation, which enacted multiple restrictions and cuts to SNAP. As families face higher food costs, safeguarding this program is essential to ensuring children have food on the table.

Vegetable washes are not recommended by USDA and are inferior to water studies have shown.
Soap is not meant to be eaten, and you can’t rinse it out completely once the soap has penetrated the surface cells. FDA also explicitly recommends against soap, detergent, or bleach on produce. Plain water is the right tool.
