We are excited to announce our next webinar! On Tuesday, June 23rd from 12-1pm, join Dr. Keenan Colquitt from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor for "Beyond 'Toxic Masculinity': Cultivating Hope, Belonging, and Healthier Masculinities on Campus!"

This webinar examines the growing influence of the “manosphere”; an online ecosystem of influencers, forums, and content shaping how some students understand gender, relationships, status, and power, and what it means for campus hope and belonging. Drawing from interdisciplinary scholarship and campus-informed examples, we will explore why manosphere narratives can resonate (e.g., loneliness, identity development, algorithmic amplification) and how they may normalize resentment, misogyny, homophobia, and rigid gender roles. Participants will learn how these messages can affect campus climate, student well-being, and help-seeking, with attention to intersections of race, class, sexuality, disability, nationality, and faith. The session provides practical, equity-centered strategies that avoid amplifying harmful content: media literacy and “inoculation” approaches, facilitation moves for difficult conversations, and cross-campus prevention and support pathways. Attendees will leave with concrete tools to respond and foster healthier masculinities grounded in care, accountability, and connection.
