As most are now aware, dangerously cold weather is expected to descend on the Lansing area tonight and persist through at least Saturday. Although conversations are being had now to hopefully expand options for citizens seeking refuge from the extreme cold, I wanted to share those places that we currently know will be open in Lansing where people can stay warm.

For a full list of warming centers and resources, visit:
lansingmi.gov/990/10351/Warming-and-Cooling-Centers
*** any expanded options will be added to the website

Help is also available by calling 311 (City services) or 211 (social service agencies).

Additionally, the LPD and LFD will continue to check on those found outdoors and offer assistance to those that are willing to accept.
