The Lansing Lit Merchant Market is today (Sunday) from 12 pm - 4 pm at the REO Town Clubhouse! Stop by and peruse bookish wares from our fantastic group of vendors and get 15% off the Clubhouse's brunch menu when you purchase something from the Market.
We still have tote bags available. If you haven't picked up your Book Crawl tote yet, bring your completed bookstore passport to the Market and redeem it at the Info Booth to get your prize!

NEXT WEEKEND: It's the second annual Lansing Lit Fest and we're so excited to get *lit* with all of you! Come celebrate Lansing's thriving literary scene on September 19 - 21 with a bookshop crawl, author talks, a merchant market, poetry events, and so much more ~
Wayfaring Booksellers is hosting a Community Craft Day from 9:30 am to 11 am on Saturday, September 20. Bring a creative project you've been working on and chat with local creatives while you craft, or use our provided materials to make your own bookmark! Coffee and donuts will be provided while supplies last.
Visit Wayfaring Booksellers or any of the participating bookstores to pick up your schedule of events and bookstore passport ahead of the fun!

Our friends at The Capital Area Literacy Coalition / The Reading People are joining us for this year’s Lansing Lit Festival by opening the doors to their book building Friday, September 19 from 11 am to 4 pm to give away free books for anyone who stops by!
No catch, no strings attached–visit The Reading People at 1028 E Saginaw St, Lansing, MI 48906 and you can take a book from their book building home for free.
The Reading People (also known as the Capital Area Literacy Coalition) is a nonprofit in Lansing that provides free educational services to anyone who needs them. 2025 is their 40th year in operation. Their programs include adult reading, GED completion, English as a second language, and a kid's program. Their mission is to provide literacy instruction to anyone who struggles with reading no matter their age or background.

There’s still time to apply to be a vendor for the Lansing Lit Merchant Market! We’re seeking anyone selling bookish and creative wares. The Merchant Market is being held from 12 pm to 4 pm Sunday, September 21 inside the REO Town Clubhouse, located at 1314 S Washington Ave. in Lansing. Vendor setup opens at 11:00 a.m., with teardown from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Vending spaces are sized at 10 x 10 ft. Space rental is $50, with tables and chairs provided. Sponsorships or payment plans are available to support the $50 space rental. If you’re interested in securing a spot in our Merchant Market, please email [email protected] by Sunday, September 14 with your name, contact info, and a brief description of what you’d like to sell during the event.
Please note that this space is primarily for merchandising vendors; independent authors and creators can contact [email protected] to alert bookstores and libraries that they are available for other opportunities.
