So great to host the Michigan Forest Products Council for their annual board meeting, advocacy day & their Sustainable Forestry Luncheon event. The forest products industry is part of the backbone of Michigan, and it’s critically important to promote sustainable forestry initiatives!

Every year, the first full week of May marks Teacher Appreciation week. This week takes time to recognize the hard work teachers do to positively impact the lives of their students. At Acuitas, we’re proud to work with organizations that see the value of educators and work to promote their interests in Michigan and across the country!

Earlier this week, PA 39 (formerly HB 4608) was signed into law by Governor Whitmer. The law creates a licensure framework and governing body for dietitian nutritionists in Michigan. The bill will be effective 90 days after the Legislature adjourns sine die for 2024. This legislation brings Michigan into alignment with standards for 48 other states!

Some special guest joined the House Appropriations Committee at their meeting this morning! The Association of Michigan Independent Colleges and Universities is in Lansing today in support of the Michigan Tuition Grant and the Michigan Achievement Scholarship.

Bridge Michigan published guest commentary from Brian Swift on the dangers of impaired driving, and available resources to combat this devastating phenomenon in Michigan. Brian is an Escanaba native and graduate of Norther Michigan University who serves as a spokesperson for the National Alliance to Stop Impaired Driving (NASID). Read the article here:
