While Memorial Day is a day of remembrance and thanks for the ultimate sacrifice, its also seen as the first day of summer, and whats a more American way to celebrate than with a grill?
Thanks to donations from many great people, we're able to cook some meals for some of the most vulnerable members of our community. Grilled Brats, homemade potato salad and a whole mess of beans are whats on the menu, today.
A huge Thank you goes out to the soldiers and the families that made that sacrifice to secure our freedom, a freedom that doesn't only allow us to fulfill our own desires, but allows us to serve others and fulfill their needs. We are eternally grateful.
(Pic of the first of 3 batches to be cooked! Each meal will consist of 2 dogs, and one serving of potato salad and beans, a small bag of trailmix or granola as a snack, and a bottle of water. A totalnof 32 meals will.be prepared today.) Thank you to those who donated, cooked or will be there to help pass them out.

37 more full bellies today! They had their choice of goulash, green beans, corn, and carrots or biscuits and gravy, oatmeal, and fruit. The amount of support we have gotten in less than 2 months for the Southern Hospitality Project in Michigan has been amazing! Almost 200 meals have been passed out! That's a lot of food, a lot of cooking, and a whole lot of blessings! You guys rock!

We're, literally, 2 blocks from our State's Capitol, feeding hungry people. I wonder what else can be done to help these people. If you know anyone from the State Health Department, tag them. I'd like to speak with some folks on some ideas I have.

We fed another 24 people today! Hugged some necks, met some new friends, and had a lot of conversations. Thank you to all who have supported us through the years. And if you are new, thanks for joining us!

For those of you that donated to help us feed the homeless, here's a receipt with what we were able to get at Meijer with their sale. I'll be cooking up some chili to pass out this Friday since it's going to be cold. We'll also pass out these oranges and apples! Thank you to all that donated!

Meijer has some great deals right now. If you buy 7 or more of their 7 for $7 items, you can get each for $1! Bags of potatoes, oranges, apples, canned foods, noodles!
I am planning a shopping trip to feed the homeless. If you would like to donate, I'll leave my Cashapp and Venmo below. Or if you are local (Lansing, MI) and want to pick up some of these items, you can drop them off or we can pick up.
I cook 5 lbs of potatoes each time we feed people. They seem to love my mashed potatoes! Oranges and apples would be great to pass out along with a plate. Canned goods and pasta don't last long either when you are making 40 plates at a time.
In 2 weeks we have fed over 80 people! We're just driving around and passing plates out as we find them. 41 plates just yesterday! These people are hungry. We're making sure they get fed.
Below are just a few of the items in the sale.
