🚧 Traffic Update for Kidtime Families 🚧
We wanted to address the construction currently at the corner of Mt. Hope and Pennsylvania Ave.
When traveling to Kidtime, please plan to turn onto Mt. Hope from Cedar Street to avoid the construction area and ensure a smoother arrival and departure.
Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we navigate this! If anything changes, we’ll be sure to keep you updated. 😊

🌦️ New Study Alert: Exploring Weather! 🌈☀️🌧️
Our preschoolers are diving into an exciting new study all about weather! From sunshine to snowflakes, we’ll be observing, predicting, and exploring the world right outside our window.
Learning about weather helps children build early science skills while also strengthening everyday decision-making, like choosing what to wear for the day. Along the way, they’ll expand their vocabulary using rich, descriptive language and learn how to understand and manage their feelings about changes in their environment.
Each day, we’ll be tracking the weather together, giving children the opportunity to observe patterns, make predictions, and develop a deeper understanding of the world around them.
We can’t wait to see all the curiosity, questions, and discoveries that come with this study! 🌍💙

Keeping our preschoolers healthy starts with simple lessons, like learning about germs! 🦠💦
Preschoolers are still building their immune systems, and they spend a LOT of time close to friends, toys, and shared materials. Teaching them what germs are (in an age-appropriate way!) helps them understand why we wash hands, cover our coughs, and keep our bodies clean.
Here’s why learning about germs matters in early childhood:
✨ It builds lifelong hygiene habits like regular handwashing.
✨ It helps prevent the spread of illnesses such as colds, flu, and stomach bugs.
✨ It empowers children to take care of their bodies and keep themselves and others healthy.
✨ It supports a healthier classroom for everyone!
When children understand how germs spread, they become active participants in keeping our school community safe and thriving. 💛
Healthy habits start early; and we’re learning them together! 👏

How Gross Motor Skills Build Strong Foundations for Math
At Kidtime CDC, we know that big movement helps build big learning! Gross motor play. Running, jumping, climbing, and balancing does more than build strong bodies. It develops the brain pathways children need for early math skills and overall learning success.
Here’s how movement supports math and learning development:
📘 Brain Development
Activities like crawling, climbing, and crossing the midline strengthen both sides of the brain; supporting memory, problem-solving, and focus needed for math.
🗣️ Language & Vocabulary Growth
Movement helps children learn new words as they explore the world and describe what their bodies are doing.
🎯 Improved Attention
Physical play boosts a child’s ability to concentrate, listen, and follow multi-step directions: skills essential for early math.
👀 Visual Tracking
Using large muscles helps train the eye muscles for tracking: important for reading number lines, counting objects, and eventually reading text.
When children move their bodies, they build the foundation for mathematical thinking… without even realizing it!
✨ At Kidtime, learning is active, joyful, and full of movement!

🌱 Why Gardening Matters in Preschool 🌱
Planting and gardening with young children helps them grow too!
It builds early science skills, encourages healthy habits, and teaches responsibility—all while having fun and getting hands-on with nature.
Due to the rain, we will be hosting our Showcase tomorrow, June 5th instead. Hope to see you then!
