We do have one community event tonight, September 14th, at Corey's Lounge. The event is from 8pm - 10pm at Corey's Lounge at 1511 S Cedar St, Lansing, MI 48910.

We are excited to share an important update regarding the Sign Language Interpreter Program at Lansing Community College.

Students who have been progressing through the ASL language sequence and are preparing to transition into the interpreting portion of the program will have the opportunity to participate in the ITP Screening process this July.


To support this transition, SIGN 167, Beginning Sign to Voice, is available to register for. Additionally, the SIGN 170, Expressive/Receptive ASL, requirement will be waived for students seeking entry into the Interpreter Training Program through this screening cycle.


We recognize that many of you have spent several semesters learning and growing together in your ASL coursework. We appreciate your patience and perseverance as the College worked to strengthen the program's faculty resources and prepare for the continuation of interpreter training opportunities.


Additional details regarding the July screening process will be shared soon.


If you are interested in advancing into the interpreting portion of the program, we encourage you to connect with Sign Language Advising as soon as possible. Advising can provide information regarding eligibility, screening requirements, course registration, and next steps in the program.

It's April now and our Spring semester is winding down. But we still have a bunch of events left so make sure to add them to your calendar!

Don't forget to check your LCC email for any changes or updates to events! Also, please look at the SLC email blast and register for our Silent Retreat. It's an awesome opportunity for students to really practice their ASL skills.

Hey everybody!!!!

The LCC Sign Language Club is doing a Pop Can Drive Fundraiser on Monday, March 23rd from 2:30pm - 4:30pm at the Downtown Campus. All proceeds go to supporting our club and helping us create inclusive events for students and the community. Details about the exact dropoff place will be shared closer to the day but please come support our club!!!

If you want to make a direct donation, you can also do so using our Venmo or through the LCC Foundation. Just make sure to specify that your donation is to the Sign Language Club Fund.
