Matthew began working with Michigan Rehabilitation Services (MRS) during high school to build his workplace skills. But the first job he secured was not a good fit for him.
Recognizing that he needed additional support, Matthew went back to MRS. With renewed determination and guidance from MRS, Matthew worked to find a job that was better suited to his needs. As a result, he found a job that he enjoys.

For Michigan’s 435,500 veterans, the transition from service to civilian employment is not always easy. Many veterans face barriers, including translating military skills into civilian careers, navigating disability accommodations and adjusting to a changing job market — challenges that can lead to underemployment or long-term job instability without the right support.
