Join us from 5-6 pm at Moores Park for a fun craft segment that serves as a fun play on words! To kick off Sturgeon Moon AND appreciate a Lansing landmark, we'll be making our own miniature home decorative fish ladders.

Supplies are provided. No entry to participate, but donations to Art Interactive are welcome and appreciated.

Buck Moon,

We took a few months off from hosting Full Moon Events, and will be back at the end of this month to present Buck Moon. Wednesday, July 29th at Moores Park.

The glimmer of hope and joy we create together each Full Moon are amazing miracles. So many smiles shared and connections made.

By exchanging our gifts with eachother and welcoming one another to celebrate victories and mourn defeats we are an authentic community.

Only together do we have the tools to live satisfied and purpose filled lives. Art Interactive invites you to a day of fun and play, making art in the park during the Full Buck Moon.

I hope everyone had a spectacular time beneath the Strawberry Moon.
This post will go over a bit of the Strawberry Moon lore and include a question at the end. It is completely optional, and we would love to hear your responses!

MOON LORE
Rather than a red or pinkish color, the Strawberry Moon actually got its name as the full moon in June aligning with “June-bearing” Strawberries.

SYMBOLISM
The Strawberry Moon signifies a time of abundance. This could be in any area of life with some examples being wealth, prosperity, finances, food, ideas and creativity, etc.

This moon has been known by many different names including the following:

Berries Ripen Moon - Haida
Blooming Moon - Anishinaabe
Green Corn Moon - Cherokee
H**r Moon - Western Abenaki
Birth Moon - Tlingit
Egg Laying Moon - Cree
Hatching Moon - Cree
Honey Moon - European
Mead Moon - European

June, being the month named after the Roman Goddess, Juno, the goddess of marriage, is a traditional month of marriage. This also makes “Honey Moon” quite a fitting name from the list above, as many couples will go on honeymoon after marriage.

METAPHYSICAL

Harvest:
This Moon symbolizes a time of harvesting intentions, reaping what we sow. We have been working diligently the last few months on releasing what no longer serves, planting new seeds, and now we are in the harvest phase. Enjoy the fruits of your labor… and maybe some strawberries!

Closing Cycles & Releasing:
With the completion of the cycle, it is once again time to release anything that no longer serves to make room for the new cycle. This may be emotional things, mental clutter, habits, etc.

Grounding/Foundation for your Path:
That said, this is also a great time for laying new foundations or stabilizing the ones we are currently working on. This is thinking long-term, mainly, though every short-term goal is important, too.

May 31st, we will be celebrating BLUE with the Blue Moon!

(Blue Moon Event on May 30th at The Fledge, 5-10pm.)

May 31, 2026. Peaks at 4:45 AM.

This is a very special moon since it is the second full moon in the same month, symbolizing powerful transformations and transition periods, rarity, clarity of emotions, perspectives, and goals, and can signal a time of sudden life-changing shifts to said personal goals, perspectives, and/or emotional cloudedness.

The Old Farmer’s Almanac describes the origin of the blue moon as a mistake printed in a 1946 issue of Sky & Telescope magazine. “Blue Moon” became a popular name for this moon in the 1980s. It is not, in fact, blue, but we can let our imaginations conjure up some pretty cool visuals of what the sky and moon would look like if the moon was blue. :)

Luna Moonfall on Moonfall Metaphysical describes this moon as a good time to release and reset. She also describes it as a moon that is not “gentle” how some of our other moons are in times of healing and refreshing, but more like a catalytic energy, essentially where things need to be released or destroyed and rebuilt, often including unpredictable and sometimes uncontrollable change (for those familiar with tarot, this would be the Tower card and the Death card).

Change is not always a negative thing, though it can be scary or intimidating at times, or maybe just difficult to stick with long-term. That is where there may be something needing adjusted in our mindset or actions to allow ourselves to persevere. Something must be released in order to make room for growth and change.

If there is anything that is not done or has not been completed as of yet, this is a good time to do that, ensuring we keep ourselves on track with the paths we choose to walk.

For anyone interested, Moonfall Metaphysical includes a list of associated colors, herbs, and crystals for the Blue Moon this month.

Herbs: Mugwort, Rosemary, Sage
Crystals: Labradorite, Moonstone, Obsidian

The time is now. If you feel like there is something that has been building up and waiting for the right time, this might just be that time. Listen to your heart. Go with what feels ‘right’ to you/what resonates with you.

When you think of flowers, what do you think of? Probably the pretty colors. Maybe the insects and the pollen. All very relevant to the symbolism of the Flower Moon, which we gathered for on May 1st this year.

The Flower Moon symbolizes a time of high fertility and abundance as the flowers bloom and grow, nurtured by our lovely little pollinators, nourished by the rain and the fallen leaves from the past season. It is also symbolic of growth and renewal, as we have not seen many of these flowers since the fall and winter. The lovely and delicate Snowdrop, among the first to sprout, pushing through the snow to reach the sun, signals that the rest of the flowers will soon follow.

As sure as the bees will be out and about in the spring, working diligently, the Flower Moon encourages celebrating hard work. What have you been working hard on or what are you starting to work hard on? Is there something you have recently completed working hard on? This moon encourages you to celebrate your achievements and, even if it is not finished, celebrate the work you put into it anyway. Energy is precious, and every bit put into our daily lives and our projects and endeavors is important.

Another important theme of the Flower Moon is embracing your authentic self. Do you embrace your truest self? Do you feel you must hide your truest self? This moon encourages us to be our truest selves unapologetically. You are beautiful in your own unique ways. What do you love about your authentic self? What do you find yourself doing or saying that maybe is not as authentic as you would like? Are you around people who love and appreciate you for who you are? Though this moon has passed for this month, it is always a good time to evaluate these things and choose pathways that allow us to safely and unapologetically be ourselves. Let any blockages to that be rinsed away with the rain and allow those features and traits about yourself, or those things you like to do that are yours, in your life, to bloom like the spring flowers.

Flowers don’t apologize for being flowers.
Bees don’t apologize for being bees.
Rain doesn’t apologize for being rain.
You don’t need to apologize for being you.
You don’t need to apologize for being human, for feeling, for having bad days, for liking what you like or loving who you love, for being disabled or limitedly abled, and you certainly don’t need to apologize for doing your best when your best might not seem like ‘as much as’ the day before.

This is your reminder to love your truest self and to know you are loved and you matter.
