We are proud to welcome Dr. Deborah J. Smith, representing Michigan’s recovery community with wisdom, compassion, and decades of leadership.
As Clinical Director and Co-Owner of Wellness, InX in Lansing, Dr. Smith leads integrated recovery services that support justice-involved individuals, women’s behavioral health, and workforce training for peer professionals. Her work is grounded in real-world experience and driven by a deep commitment to trauma-informed care and systems-level change.
A licensed professional counselor, researcher, and former chair of MARCO (Michigan Association of Recovery Community Organizations), Dr. Smith has shaped policy, advanced peer recovery programs, and trained countless clinicians and leaders across the state.
Her voice on the UFAM Rally Main Stage reminds us that strong recovery systems begin with strong recovery advocates.
