What an incredible day of community, care, and connection! The NAACP Lansing Branch was honored to serve as a sponsor for the Black Family Wellness Expo, hosted by The Lansing/East Lansing (MI) Links, Incorporated last weekend!
Coming together to prioritize the health and well-being of our families is at the heart of what we do. From health screenings to educational resources, the expo provided vital tools to empower our community to lead healthier, more vibrant lives.
As we continue to grow together, we remain dedicated to the mission of advocacy and ensuring that our community has the support it needs to thrive in mind, body, and soul.

Join millions across the country rejecting authoritarianism and showing determination and solidarity. Power belongs to the people; not to any one leader acting above the law. This is a critical moment for our community to stand up for the principles of justice, accountability, and the protection of our hard-won voting rights.

On March 13, 2026 members of the NAACP Lansing Branch partnered with the Michigan Department of State (MDOS) and local leaders for the Road to Restoration Clinic hosted at Union Missionary Baptist Church. We hit the ground running to help our community navigate the complex path to regaining their driving privileges. For many in our community, a valid driverβs license isnβt just a piece of plastic; itβs the key to job opportunities, reliable healthcare, and the freedom to care for family.
From vision screenings to written knowledge exams, the "Secretary of State" experience was brought directly to the heart of Lansing. A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this event possible.
Missed this one? Don't worry, the Road to Restoration tour is headed across the state! Visit Michigan.gov/R2R to find the next clinic near you or dial 2-1-1 for more information.
Weβre removing roadblocks and steering Lansing toward a more equitable future, one license at a time.

On this day, 117 years ago, the NAACP was founded with one goal: to advance and protect civil rights and justice for all.
Here at the NAACP Lansing Branch, we are proud to carry the legacy forward in our own community. From protecting voting rights and advancing educational equity to advocating for criminal justice reform and economic opportunity, our work continues because the mission continues.
We honor our founders, our local trailblazers, and every member who has stood in the gap for justice. The fight is not over and neither is our commitment.

Happy Black History Month!!!
This year, we honor a century of Black History Month; a sacred milestone rooted in truth-telling, resistance, brilliance, and the unbreakable spirit of our people. From Carter G. Woodsonβs vision to todayβs continued movement for justice, Black history has never been confined to a month; it lives in our communities, our culture, and our collective fight for equity every single day.
The NAACP Lansing Branch proudly celebrates our ancestors who paved the way, the leaders who dared to dream bigger, and the everyday folks whose courage and care keep us moving forward. We reflect. We remember. We recommit.
May we continue to protect Black history, uplift Black voices, and build a future that those who came before us dreamed of.
Black history is American history. And the work continues, together.
