Congratulations to Battle Creek FC for winning the 2025 (and first-ever) Capitol Cup!! All the teams played hard for a weekend of great soccer! From their skills and the support of everyone who contributed, we were able to raise $1000 for the Karenni-American Association to help build a school and benefit the IDP. Thank you to everyone for your generosity!!

We would also like to thank all the people who made this event possible, especially Nya Htoo for his tireless efforts in organizing this tournament, the players who played their hearts out, the team captains for their leadership, all of the refs, staff, photographers, and supporters for braving the heat, KnA for all of their amazing work helping Karenni communities across the country, A4L.productions for making the awesome video, the MSU Men's Club soccer team, the 1GOL board, and finally, Greater Lansing Open Soccer for sponsoring the event.

Tomorrow is the big day! Lansing's inaugural 11v11 tournament is kicking off this weekend! Games are between 10am-1pm with the tournament final at noon on Sunday at Spartan Greens Turf Complex. We are excited for some amazing soccer AND to support a great cause!! ALL proceeds are going to the Karenni-American Association to help support IDP refugees.

The tournament is sponsored by a local minority-owned soccer organization, Greater Lansing Open Soccer. They put on the best local leagues, pickup, and all other kinds of soccer games. Check them out if you'd like to play!

Deadline EXTENDED! Several teams are working to get their players corralled, so we are extending our deadline to August 11th. Get your teams in for a great competition!

We are excited to announce our very first venture in giving back to the community by partnering with the Lansing School District and Greater Lansing Open Soccer to start up an after-school soccer program for the Student Development Program! It will be coached by our president, Dean Jong, who is excited to apply his knowledge of the game and experience as a coach to this new program!!

This venture will help with our mission to make soccer more accessible to underrepresented players and youth. We are excited to help provide this opportunity to the kids.
