Another great positive outlet for kids and families is art. Positive Somebody is excited to welcome back Paint Your Poison for the second year, the 5th Annual Family Mental Health Fun Day, as the painting station in our Positive Outlet Alley. This is a wonderful locally owned business that offers private parties, team-building, kids' parties, fundraisers, senior events, paint-party venues, and crushed-glass resin art.

We were excited to receive enough donations just in time to deliver the 180 Positive Packs to Williamston High School for their welcome event for incoming freshmen. The packs open the door to conversations about wellness, self-care, and mental health as students prepare to transition to high school.
Their amazing social worker, Cait, was just as excited as we were.
We have just a few more schools to finish. We are almost there, please consider donating today: https://givebutter.com/fill-positive-pack-waitlist-0aztfn
Here is a fun recap from some of our volunteers and attendees.
A huge thank you to Equine Center For Learning and Cognitive Consultants for partnering with us to put on this fun event to wind down Mental Health Month. Thank you to our volunteers and the more than 40 children and their families for attending.
We will see you again next year!

What an incredible day at The Positive Equine Connection: Building Healthy Coping Skills with Positive Somebody and the Equine Center For Learning
Today was truly something special. We spent the afternoon teaching children how to recognize their emotions, understand them, and begin learning healthy ways to process their feelings. It was a glorious day filled with sunshine, connection, and so many meaningful moments.
Throughout the event, children explored:
• Recognizing emotions in both humans and horses, creating sensory bottles.
• Nutrition and hydration needs for kids and for horses
• Positive self‑care and how to care for animals, and how to care for ourselves
• Healthy sleep habits
• Creative, calming activities like journal decorating, sensory bottles, painting, and more
The weather was beautiful, the horses were gentle teachers, and the kids brought so much joy and curiosity. A great time was had by all.
More of a full recap is coming soon — but for now, here are just a few pictures from our wonderful day together.
We are building stronger communities by building emotionally stronger children and families.
