Reminder: Michigan communities can apply for the current window of free federal infrastructure grant support through the Michigan Infrastructure Office Technical Assistance Center until June 10th at 11:59 PM!
Applications are now open for Window 2 (2026) of the Michigan Infrastructure Office Technical Assistance Center (TAC). Michigan communities can apply for free support with federal infrastructure grants, including grant writing, grant identification, and benefit-cost analysis.
TAC support is available for the following anticipated federal grant opportunities:
• Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program
• Bridge Investment Program (BIP) Bridge Project
• Rural Business Development Grants (RBDG)
• Pilot Program for Transit-Oriented Development
Applications are open from May 26th to June 10th at 11:59pm.

Did your school, church, or nonprofit install solar panels or EV chargers in 2025? The IRS could send you a check for 30% to 70% of project costs through the Elective Pay program. The filing deadline is May 15th.
The Michigan Infrastructure Office's Elective Pay Ambassadors offer free, one-on-one help walking eligible organizations through the application. A recent article in Planet Detroit broke down who qualifies, what projects count, and how to reach your regional ambassador before the window closes:
