The Institute of Transportation Engineers ITE-MSU Student Chapter is happy to announce this week's Mobility Seminar Series at the Spartan Village Community Center this Friday between 2pm - 3pm EDT.

Presenting this Oct 28, 2022 is 4th year Ph.D. student, Nischal Gupta (Advisor: Dr. Peter Savolainen) on his research on "A comparison of Traffic Crash and Connected Vehicle Event Data on a Freeway Corridor with Hard-Shoulder Running".

The last ITE Meeting/Summer Potluck for the 2021/2022 session was held on the 20th of September 2022 at Hawk Island, Lansing. The newly elected Executive Board of ITE-MSU Student Chapter is led by president, Sagar Keshari for the 2022/2023 term.

The ITE MSU Student Chapter held its 2021 Annual General Meeting on Friday October 8th, 2021. Elections took place for the 2021/2022 term where six positions were contested. The previous Media Coordination tasks are consolidated into the General Secretary and Assistant General Secretary positions for efficiency.

The Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) Student Chapter at MSU won two top awards this summer - Chapter Momentum Award and Outstanding Chapter Award from the ITE Great Lakes District. MSU ITE Vice President Megat Usamah Megat Johari (on right) and Treasurer Md Shakir Mahmud are pictured with the chapter’s newest honors. The Chapter Momentum Award is new in 2020 and recognized the district’s most improved student chapter.

Meghna Chakraborty, a doctoral student in transportation engineering, won the Daniel B. Fambro Outstanding Student Paper Award from the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) Great Lakes District this summer. Her paper assessed the safety impacts associated with horizontal curve density on rural two-lane state and county road segments in Michigan.
