Race recap from May 22nd at Corrigan Oil Speedway:

Peyton and Brad went out for qualifying and laid down some good quality laps during the second round of qualifying locking both in the B main races. Peyton qualified with a 17.039 and Brad with a 16.363 fast lap.

During the first feature Peyton was running very well before getting taken out twice during the race and had to settle with a 10th place finish. Brad was battling up front trying to make the pass for 3rd, but coming to the white flag his foot slipped off the throttle causing him to fall back to 8th place.

During the second feature Peyton started on the pole and held the lead for a couple laps, and was running the best his car has ran all season so far before the car started to bog down and had to pull into the infield and watch the rest of the race. Brad started a couple of rows back in the field, and quickly found himself running 3rd again and very closely behind the 2nd place car. Brad ran out of laps and settled for 3rd place.

Huge thank you goes out to Misty Casaday and Chrisanna Robison making a quick trip to the parts store at the beginning of the night, and to Scott Weasal Casaday for the help on getting the correct fuel pressure set on the car after the 1st qualifying session didn’t go so well!!

Race recap from Friday May 15th:

Both Peyton and Brad set their personal bests qualifying laps at Corrigan Oil Speedway! Peyton with a quick lap of 16.911 and Brad with a 16.192 both landing in the B division for the night.

During the first feature Peyton started on the pole while Brad was towards the back of the field. On lap #1 Peyton got hit and spun in turns 1 & 2. The car stalled out and was unable to get it to fire back up and had to be towed off. Brad took his time getting through the field and was running 4th when he got spun in 3 & 4 which allowed him to restart in 4th. On the restart quickly moved up to 3rd and was right behind the leaders and was about to make a move for the lead when another caution came out. On that restart the car started to v***r lock due to an overheating fuel pressure regulator. This caused Brad to fall back and finish in 8th.

During the second feature Brad started on the pole and Peyton started towards the back. Brad took the green and the early lead. After a spin and a controversial call with Brad and another car, Brad was sent to the rear. On the restart Brad and Peyton restarted next to each other. As laps ran out Peyton followed Brad through the field to finish in 10th and 11th place respectively.
