Summer is finally here, and we’re beyond excited to announce the line-up for our sixth season of Live Music Thursdays at Nelson Gallery! Friends of the gallery Ash Can Van Gogh are kicking off the season for us, and we’re grateful to have their help setting the tone for our best summer yet.

Join us every Thursday from 4:30 to 6:30 PM for free outdoor performances (weather permitting). Wander over from one of the nearby restaurants with food and drink in hand (thank you Downtown Lansing social district), find your spot, and stay a while. It all starts June 11th, and we’re counting down the days. Put it on your calendar, and we’ll see you there!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for last night’s opening reception of Relatives You Didn’t Know You Had by Jane Rosemont! It was an absolute delight to host Jane, and we had an excellent turn out of old friends and new faces. In matching the theme of the exhibition, you could almost call the night an unofficial family reunion.

Home Anchors

We all recharge in different ways. For the moms whose cups are filled by carefully cultivating the atmosphere of their home, we selected the pieces in this gift guide to act as aesthetic anchors for the spaces they’re displayed in. Whether you’re shopping for someone who changes their decor with the seasons, or persistently hunts for the next gem to join their gallery wall, these pieces speak to the heart of those who pride themselves on their distinct taste.

If you’re looking for something to do this Mother’s Day weekend, the gallery is open on Saturday from 10am-5pm. Stop in with Mom to explore our current collection!

Join us tonight for the opening reception of our new exhibition, Relatives You Didn’t Know You Had by Jane Rosemont!

The reception runs from 5:30-7pm, and will feature a discussion with Jane about her collage process, her love of photography, and the inspiration behind this exhibition. Originally from Michigan, much of Jane’s work is now based out of a studio in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and we’re very fortunate to have her with us to celebrate the arrival of her work to the gallery. We hope you’ll stop by!

Inspired By the Natural World

Authentic gift-giving is about showing someone you recognize what brings them peace or makes them light up. With that in mind, we intentionally curated the pieces in this gift guide with Mother Nature in mind.

For the moms who prioritize spending time in the great outdoors, these pieces speak to different inspirations from the natural world, and make for excellent Mother’s Day gifts. 🌷🌿🌞

With Mother’s Day right around the corner, stop into the gallery to find a unique, handcrafted gift that honors her connection to the wild.
