We worked on a fun and exciting small project for a clubhouse, where the goal was to install an outdoor CCTV PTZ camera on a pole without access to power or Wi-Fi.

Our solution included a wireless bridge, solar panel, and battery, all of which worked seamlessly together— solar technology exceeded our expectations.

There were several key technical considerations to ensure everything functioned smoothly. The camera required 48V PoE, while the wireless bridge needed 24V PoE. So, we used a 24V PoE for the bridge and a 12V DC supply for the camera, powered directly by the solar controller.

We carefully calculated and tested the power consumption of each device to determine the necessary wattage for the solar panel and the right battery capacity (in Ah). Along the way, we also made some custom modifications to optimize the setup. The video feed is viewed and recorded via the existing NVR.

The Homeowners' Association (HOA) was thrilled with the solution, and we were able to keep costs well below budget! 😊
