Nothing says summer quite like firing up the grill 🔥 Don’t accidentally fire up anything else with these grilling safety tips 👇
🥩 Keep grills outside on a level surface away from your house, deck, and/or fence
🌶 Never use a grill in a garage
🌽 Never move a grill while it is lit
🍔 Keep a close eye on your grill while it’s in use, never leave it unattended
🌭 Keep kids and pets a safe distance away
🥩 Perform a thorough inspection on your grill at the beginning of grilling season
🌶 Clean our drip trays regularly
🌽 Use a cover to protect your grill from weather
🍔 Keep your distance and do not lean too far in when lighting a gas grill
🌭 Keep the lid open to prevent from gas building up inside the gas grill, which can cause a flash burn
🥩 Always remember to turn off the gas when you’re finished grilling
🌶 When lighting a charcoal grill, be cautious if you are using lighter fluid and make sure you use the kind specifically for grills – let it soak into the charcoal before lighting
🌽 Safer ways to light a charcoal grill include: metal chimney starters and solid fire starters – you can use electric starters too, but don’t use them in the rain
🍔 Let your grill cool after you’re finished grilling
🌭 Dispose of hot coals and ash safely after letting them cool for 24 hours

💦 Have an adult supervising at all times
💦 Don’t rely on floatation devices
💦 Follow all facility rules
💦 Enroll children in swimming lessons
💦 Teach kids not to swallow pool water to prevent choking

It may only be May ✨ but summer will be here before we know it 🌊 With temperatures rising, here’s a refreshment on how to stay refreshed in the upcoming summer heat👇
☀️ Know the signs of heat exhaustion, including: pale/ashen/moist skin, muscle cramps, fatigue, weakness, headache, dizziness, fainting, nausea/vomiting, and rapid heart rate
☀️ Know the signs of heat stroke, including: flushed or hot skin, rapid breathing, no longer sweating, headache, dizziness, confusion, irrational behavior convulsions, unresponsiveness, and a body temperature of 103 degrees or higher
☀️ Take extra precaution for those who are in an at-risk category such as: overweight, chronic health conditions, works in the heat, infants/children, and seniors
☀️If you work in the heat, work shorter shifts, take more breaks, and check on your coworkers
☀️ Always stay hydrated and drink before you start to feel thirsty
☀️ Call 911 immediately if you suspect someone is suffering from a heat stroke
☀️ Get them into cold water or drape them with cold towels, remove excess clothing, provide CPR if necessary
☀️ Do not force them to drink, rub alcohol on the skin, or force them to take pain relievers or salt tablets
☀️ If possible, stay inside during the hottest parts of the day
☀️ Wear loose fitting, light weight clothing, and sunscreen
☀️ If going outside, pace yourself
