Chelan County, WA

Chelan Fire and Rescue crews, along with 2nd and 3rd alarm resources from Chelan, Douglas, and Okanogan counties, DNR, and the USFS, responded aggressively yesterday to the fire on the backside of Chelan Butte during high winds.

As winds eased and temperatures cooled, fire behavior moderated. Multiple aircraft also assisted crews and helped slow the fire’s spread.

No structures have been lost, and no injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Today’s progress reflects the aggressive, coordinated efforts of local, state, and federal fire resources. Evacuation levels are expected to be reduced later this afternoon. 📸 Chelan County FD
