Remember when we mysteriously shut the shop down and disappeared for an off-site project?
The secret is finally out.
We had the honor and pleasure of helping bring the largest Hajime Sorayama Official FB robot ever produced to life for The Weeknd’s latest tour. Standing 43 feet tall, this wasn’t just another “Sexy Robot”—it was what we affectionately dubbed the “Sexier Robot.”
Built entirely from cast aluminum, rather than fiberglass like its predecessor, this 43-foot-tall giant was one of the most ambitious projects we’ve ever tackled.
Working alongside Daniel Gokey and Chris Dunlop utilizing the Cosmichrome USA system, we helped create the mirror-like gold-chrome finish that became the centerpiece of the show.
The opening night in Manchester, UK confirmed what we already knew in the shop: photos don’t do this thing justice. At 43 feet tall, the sculpture dwarfs nearly everything around it, including The Weeknd himself.
