8 Years of ResonateYou &
A New Chapter

This August marks two meaningful milestones: the beginning of the eighth year of ResonateYou and my twenty-fifth year of teaching voice.

As I reflect on those years, one question has remained at the heart of my work:

How can I help each person better understand and use their voice with greater health, freedom, confidence, and joy?

Over the past 25 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with so many people and voices—through private lessons, choirs, musical theatre, singing circles, workshops, and community programs.

More than anything, I’m grateful for the people I’ve gotten to know and the singing journeys I’ve been invited to be a part of. I never take that privilege lightly.

That same curiosity has continued to lead me back to learning: What do I need to learn so I can better help my students?

And that brings me to my next chapter:

Beginning August 18, I’ll begin a year-long, 18-credit Vocology Certification through Lamar University.

Vocology brings together voice science, pedagogy, speech-language pathology, and current research to deepen our understanding of healthy, efficient, expressive voice use.

And the wonderful thing is—you’ll be learning alongside me. What I discover will continue to inform and deepen the work we do together in the studio.

As ResonateYou begins its eighth year, I simply want to say thank you.

Thank you for trusting me with your voices, your music, and your learning.

I’m incredibly grateful for these past eight years and excited to see where this next chapter leads.

Amazing three days at The Voice Foundation’s Annual Symposium in Philadelphia this week.

A gathering of voice professionals: laryngologists, speech language pathologists, voice science researchers, voice specialists, voice teachers, and singers.

We are all studying the same organ, and yet so interesting to me how much diversity is still out there of the myriad of definitions of belt/mix/breath support vs. sub-glottic pressure, and the list goes on and on.

And at the end of the day, the voice is one of the most amazing organs in the human body and our whole body is our instrument.

There seems to be agreement there!

Quarterly Event!! Summer Solstice with Singing and Drumming, followed by a soothing Sound and Vocal Meditation.
