Dear Thomas,
Happy Birthday, big brother.
Even though you're not here physically, you’re always with me. Today, on your birthday, I just want to talk to you, like I would if you were still here—still teasing me, still being your chaotic, lovable self.
You used to ruffle my hair constantly, even though you knew I hated it. And you'd pick me up just to mess with me—even worse, you’d pretend you were gonna toss me in the trash like I was some kind of toy. I’d be so mad, but deep down, I knew it was your way of showing love. Just a rambunctious big brother being exactly that. And you know what? I wouldn’t trade those moments for anything.
Even though our time together was short, it was full of love, laughter, and your ridiculous jokes. I carry those memories like treasures. They remind me that I was lucky to have you, even just for a little while.
Now that I’m 21, almost 22, I wonder what life would be like if you were still here. I think about how we’d be now—probably still messing with each other, but also talking about life, dreams, everything. I think about how proud you'd be, and I hope I’m doing right by you.
So today, I celebrate you. I laugh at the memories, I feel the love, and I hold you close in my heart, where you’ve always been.
Happy Birthday, Thomas. I miss you, I love you, and I’ll always be your little sibling.
