05/07/2026 - We need rain, and we need it now. The latest update to the Drought Monitor was issued this morning. Level D3/D4 extreme drought has returned to some northern locations, with nearly the entire rest of the forecast area under level D2/D4 severe drought in place for the rest of the forecast area. Where we stand now, it would take at least 6-8” to wipe away drought conditions.
