Junipers Reservoir RV Resort
Welcome to Oregon’s Premier Dark Sky RV Destination! Nestled on the scenic 5,000-acre KV Bar Ranch near Lakeview, Oregon. Most have upgraded 50 amp service.
Junipers Reservoir RV Resort is your gateway to unforgettable outdoor adventures and some of the darkest night skies in the world. This scenic RV Park is located at the end of a one mile gravel driveway in the heart of an 5,000 acre cattle ranch. Our 40 gravel RV pull through sites are spacious enough to accommodate any size of RV. 17 of the sites have water and electricity. The other 23 sites have water, electricity and sewer. Each site has a mature shade tree and a picnic table. If you do not own an RV, you can stay in our 26 foot travel trailer or bring a tent and set up camp in one of our grassy tenting areas. Individual fire pits are located in the tenting areas, a group fire pit is located in the center of the park, and a portable fire pit can be used at any site when fire restrictions are not in effect. A public pavilion in the center of center of the park contains tables and chairs for about 50 people, as well as two complimentary propane barbeques. Spacious heated restrooms with free hot showers, coin operated laundry facilities, and WIFI is also available for free at all the sites.
It’s still lived.
At Junipers Reservoir RV Resort, you’re not simply staying at an RV park. You’re staying on a working ranch.
This is land that is worked and intentionally stewarded. Where cattle graze, cowboys still ride, bees pollinate, wildlife roams and water moves through a living watershed.
It’s sagebrush and juniper. Desert and water. Ranchland and wildlife. Thousands of acres where conservation and agriculture exist side by side—and where wide-open space really is as wide as you want it to be.
And then the sun goes down.
Out here, protecting the landscape also means protecting the dark.
Above the ranch are some of the darkest skies on Earth, where the Milky Way stretches across the horizon and the stars become part of the landscape.
These are the places Western stories come from.
Stories about cattle and weather. Land and water. Hard work and long days. Wildlife, wide-open country and the people who choose to care for it.
Coming to Lakeview for the Lake County Cowboy Poetry Gathering & Western Art & Gear Show, October 9 & 10?
Come hear those stories at the historic Alger Theater.
Then drive just 10 miles out of town and stay somewhere you can experience a little of what they’re about.
Don’t just hear the stories of the West.
Stay in them.

Junipers Reservoir isn’t an isolated body of water. It’s part of the Muddy Creek system and the larger Goose Lake watershed. Water moves through this connected landscape from Muddy Creek into Juniper Reservoir, downstream toward Cottonwood Creek and ultimately Goose Lake.
And caring for that watershed has been an important part of owners John and Teresa Shine’s stewardship of the more than 5,000-acre KV Bar Ranch.
John has worked alongside the Lake County Umbrella Watershed Council and other natural-resource organizations on projects including fish habitat and connectivity along Muddy Creek, wet-meadow enhancement, aspen restoration, forest-health treatments, post-fire recovery and beaver dam analogs.
One major project restored fish passage at Juniper Reservoir, reconnecting approximately SIX MILES of upstream habitat for Goose Lake redband trout and other native fish.
There’s fascinating science behind the work, too. Healthy wet meadows can act like natural sponges, slowing and holding water on the landscape, while beaver dam analogs mimic natural beaver activity to slow streamflow and help reconnect water with surrounding wet areas.
So when you fish Junipers Reservoir, watch wildlife cross the meadows, hike the ranch or bike the six-mile loop across the KV Bar, you’re experiencing more than a beautiful destination.
You’re experiencing a working ranch and a living watershed — where conservation, agriculture, wildlife and recreation all come together.
Come experience it for yourself and get a front-row seat to the wild side of Lake County!
