Today is Juneteenth, and I hope youโll join my team and me at Prince William Countyโs Juneteenth & Me Festival.
This yearโs theme, Black Renaissance: Leading the Path Forward, is a powerful reminder that Juneteenth is not only about remembering history. It is also about honoring freedom, celebrating culture, lifting up Black creativity and leadership, and recommitting ourselves to the work still ahead.
The festival will bring together residents, families, local businesses, artists, performers, and young people for a day of connection, reflection, and joy.

๐ Can you help neighbors in need? The Capital Area Food Bankโs 2025 Hunger Report found that 43% of Prince William County residents struggle to access enough food. The PWC Hunger Free Coalition is working to support those facing food insecurity by providing food and monetary donations to local food banks and pantries.
Whether you can join the effort at the June 13 PWC Hunger Free Rally and Food Drive, make a donation, or lend a hand in another way, your support can truly make a difference for our neighbors who may be struggling. More info linked in comments.

Our team was pleased to enjoy authentic Ethiopian food at the new dining area in Yegna Market and Restaurant (1415 Old Bridge Road). After 4 years operating as a market with takeout food, Yegna now boasts a full-service restaurant open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Yegna owner Assefa told us, "Customers kept telling me they want a place to sit down and eat, to enjoy this delicious food. They told me to open a restaurant." We are glad he took their requests to heart. Thank you to Assefa and his crew for making our May team lunch something special!
