We had a great time this weekend at Doheny State Beach in Dana Point for our annual VCI company barbecue. It’s always nice to get out of the office, step away from show site for a bit, and spend time together as a team. Beautiful weather, great people, and plenty of good food. It's always a fun day with this amazing VCI crew!

The FIFA World Cup 26™ Los Angeles is here! ⚽ Over the past several weeks, we’ve shared insights, recommendations, and behind-the-scenes perspectives from the VCI Events team on what it takes to produce events in Southern California.

For our final World Cup Wednesday, we’re hearing from Todd Dale, National Account Executive at VCI Events.

Todd shares one item he never goes to show site without: a battery pack to keep his phone charged and ready throughout the day.

He also talks about the value of local venue knowledge. From access and logistics to planning and ex*****on, understanding the nuances of a venue can make a big difference when delivering successful events.

And if you’re looking for something to do while you’re in town, Todd’s recommendation is simple: eat. Los Angeles is home to incredible food from around the world, making it one of the best places to experience a little bit of everything.

We’re just 1 week away from FIFA World Cup 26™ Los Angeles kickoff. This week, Brett Drolet shares one of his show site essentials: a label maker. It may not be flashy, but when you're managing equipment, cables, and cases across a busy production, organization matters.

He also talks about one of the challenges of event production in LA: backing 53-foot trailers into tight loading areas and venue access points. Sometimes getting the gear to the show is half the battle.

And if you're looking to take in one of LA's most iconic views while you're in town, Brett recommends Griffith Observatory.

Watch below for Brett's World Cup Wednesday tip, and get ready, kickoff is almost here.

We’re 2 weeks out from kickoff of FIFA World Cup 26™ Los Angeles. This week, Josh shares one thing he always brings to show site: a D20 dice, a simple way to break the ice and connect with people during long production days.

He also talks about one of the biggest realities of working in LA: time. In a region where traffic and distance can shift quickly, building extra travel time into your schedule can make all the difference.

And if you’re looking for a classic LA spot to check out, Josh recommends the Original Tommy’s, a local landmark featured in countless films over the years

We’re 3 weeks out from kickoff in Los Angeles. This week, Brian, Senior Project Manager, talks about one of his show site essentials: cables, cables, and more cables.

He also shares insight on the importance of knowing what else is happening in the area during major event seasons — because traffic, venue activity, and overlapping events can all impact ex*****on in Southern California.

And if you’re looking to explore a bit while you’re here, Brian recommends checking out Santa Monica Pier and Venice Beach.

We’re 5 weeks out from kickoff of the FIFA World Cup 26™ Los Angeles. This week, Jeff Webb talks about one of the biggest misconceptions when planning events in Southern California: assuming everything is “just in LA.”

LA is a big market, and distance, traffic, and regional logistics can shape your entire event plan if you’re not prepared.

Jeff also shares one thing he won’t go to a show site without: North Creek Smokehouse Jerky.

And if you’re looking for a local spot to check out, he recommends Seabutter in Orange County.

We’re 6 weeks out from kickoff in Los Angeles. If you’re planning events for the FIFA World Cup 26™ Los Angeles, logistics matter — especially in a city known for tight load-ins, one-way streets, and limited space.

This week, we’re hearing from Ben Smith, Labor Coordinator at VCI Events, on one of the realities of producing events in LA: navigating tight spaces, one-way streets, and complex load-in areas.

And if you’re looking for somewhere good to eat, don’t miss Wurstküche, one of Ben’s favorite local spots.

Shout-out to the crew working behind the curtain to make it all happen.

So much of a successful event comes down to the people the audience never sees, the ones testing, adjusting, troubleshooting, and making sure every detail is ready before showtime.

Their work may happen behind the scenes, but its impact is felt everywhere.
