Redefining Strength
Redefine What Strong Means To You! Too often we get focused on a goal weight. On what our friends, or that other person at the gym, is doing.
But we can’t get focused on comparing ourselves to others. We can’t let a number on a scale define us. We can’t keep beating ourselves up when we feel like we aren’t progress as fast as that person did on Facebook or Instagram. We need to realize each of our journeys to feeling strong, confident, healthy and happy will be unique! That is why Redefining Strength was created. I’m Cori and I wanted t

I got off my 18th call of the day and I wanted to open the jar of peanut butter and dump it on my face as I ordered DoorDash to stuff myself while watching a chick flick.
But instead of opening my phone to order while walking to the cabinet, I sat down in my desk chair.
I sat in the discomfort and cravings and fatigue. I swear my whole body was screaming at me to just grab anything I could as soon as I could.
It felt like an hour I sat there I was so irritated and overwhelmed and tired but it was really just about 90 seconds…
And surprisingly all of the sudden…the desire to say "EFFF Everything" passed.
It didn’t feel good to sit there.
Part of me wanted more than everything to give in.
To tell myself I deserved it. To make any excuse to seek out that comfort.
But I didn’t.
Because really? I knew logically I didn’t want that.
I knew that wasn’t truly who I was anymore.
And I knew future Cori didn’t want it either.
Current Cori was pouting and throwing a temper tantrum…
But that pause to just embrace the discomfort and let it wash over me changed everything.
And the extra funny, ironic thing is…
I ultimately felt extra proud of myself when I did then end up eating my healthy meal prep after my workout.
Crazy how that works right?
We actually feel so much better when we do resist IF we can sit in the discomfort long enough for it to pass.
Those moments after are what make us sit a little taller.
Feel a little prouder.
Be a little more confidence.
And that’s because those uncomfortable moments stack evidence of our strength. Of how amazing and capable and fabulous we truly are.
That right there…that’s grit.
This really occurred to me this week, reflecting on that moment just the other week, when Coach Melissa talked about GRIT on our team call.
She said "To be gritty you are staying loyal to the future you that you can’t see YET."
And who you become is built through the discomfort you’re willing to sit with. Because that changes the way you even LABEL yourself.
You realize you’re not that person that always gives in. That always quits. That doesn’t have the discipline.
You become and start addressing yourself as the capable, confident person who can overcome and do hard things.
So if you’ve had that moment where every fiber of your body is pulling you toward the old routine and habit…toward that desire to shove your face into food or skip your workout…
Toward the old you that you deep down know you aren’t any longer…
Pause. Sit with it.
Feel horrible and uncomfortable. And love every second of it.
Then be proud of yourself for doing it.
Because YOU ARE GRITTY!
Comment and share…I’d love to hear, what proof did you stack this week of your amazingness?

You don't feel thirsty. So you assume you're drinking enough water.
But here's what's actually happening:
As you get older, your body loses its natural thirst cues.
You could be dehydrated and have no idea.
Which means your joints feel creaky. Your skin looks more wrinkled. You're fatigued. Your recovery is tanking.
And you're drinking what you think is "enough."
But during menopause, you need more than you think, up to 70% of your bodyweight in ounces.
Because water isn't just about hydration - it's literally part of fat loss (it plays a key role in breaking down fat).
It helps your body digest protein.
It keeps your joints mobile instead of feeling like the Tin Man.
It keeps your skin looking younger instead of like it aged 10 years overnight.
The fix?
Stop waiting to feel thirsty.
Set that water bottle by your coffee machine. Drink it while you're prepping breakfast. Make it a habit, not a feeling.
Because your body isn't telling you it needs water anymore. You have to tell your body.
Comment BOOST. I'll send you a full breakdown and quiz assessing your dietary boosters and disruptors during menopause.

Results will never happen fast enough. End of story.
And the moment you …want to give up? The moment you're ready to say, “S$%^ it! What’s the point?!”…
Is the EXACT moment you have to double down on those boring, basic habits and keep going.
Because the truth is - this is the moment we always quit.
The moment that keeps us stuck.
Not this time. This time, it will be the point where everything CLICKS.
This is the make-or-break moment.
Because results don’t just “happen.”
They compound. They snowball over time.
But only if you stay consistent when it feels like nothing’s working.
That is how this pattern ends.
Because let’s be honest…You didn’t get to this place overnight.
Whether it’s the weight gain, the low energy, the constant aches and pains, the frustration of not feeling the way you want…
These things didn’t just magically pop up last week.
And yes...getting older, hormonal shifts...well...they CAN make things feel like all of the sudden nothing works.
But we have to recognize that so much of what is happening is also habits and mindsets that have compounded over months...heck years...maybe even DECADES.
So, your body’s gotten comfortable here. It’s adjusted. It’s made your current situation feel “normal.”
And your body hates change. Even when the change is GOOD for you.
That’s why fixing your form can make a workout feel harder at first.
It’s why losing even a pound can feel like a struggle.
It’s why your body clings to the old routine because it’s safe, familiar, and predictable.
But going back to what’s easy?
Means ending up right back where you started. AGAIN.
And what used to work may not longer work in your 40s, 50s, 60s or decades to come.
So if you’re tired of that cycle…If you’re ready for “different”…THIS IS YOUR MOMENT!
Change requires change. And change takes time.
Not just to start…But for your body to accept it.
So if you feel like nothing’s happening…If you’re tempted to walk away and ready to give up…DON’T.
You’re not stuck. You’re just standing on the edge of progress.
Here’s more to help you bust out of this Change Loop and see results snowball…

Muscle isn't just about how you look. It impacts how you live.
More muscle means your body burns more calories at rest - not just during your workout, but all day long.
It means your joints have the support they need to move without pain.
Your bones stay dense and strong.
Your metabolism keeps running the way it should.
And the confidence? That's not a side effect.
That's a direct result of proving to yourself - consistently, over time - that your body is capable of more than you thought.
So many of us spent years just trying to shrink.
Eating less. Doing more cardio. Chasing a smaller number on the scale.
But what we were actually chasing was the feeling that comes from building muscle.
So prioritize building muscle. Build as much of it as you possibly can. At any age. At every stage.
