Happy Brithday to Dave the Friendly Engineer!
Hey SWLA!!! Dave the friendly engineer here!! Today is the day we all get to figure out if the drainage is properly working….that said…
If something isn’t right and you can safely take a picture that would be helpful in explaining your issue to the public works or gravity drainage people.
Please don’t drive through something your car shouldn’t attempt.
Be safe my friends!!!

We hate to be sharing this information again...
Calcasieu Parish has invested well into real time data collection for rainfall and stream measurements throughout the Parish.
The website below is public access to this data with charts to show how much rain your area recieved as well as water levels at the stations. Some locations are down due to storm damage but if a site was able to collect data it will be here.

We hate to be sharing this again...but if you are interested in looking at real time data about the rain and flood stage events check out the CPPJ rain/water level sensor web page. Great information that is almost real time throughout Southwest LA and Southeast Texas.

We are reviewing some data now to see what type of rainfall intensities we recieved in the SWLA area over the past 24 hours. It's not just how much came down, but also how fast it came down that engineers and scientists care about.
We hope you are safe and wish everyone the best.
Good morning...we pray that you are all safe.
