Best Damn Cajun Tour Awards!!
If we had awards to give out for April's crazy French tours it would go down "comme ca" - Using Guests' (& Guides') reactions of the 70+ places we went last month:

Best Team: Philippe, France, et Bernard!!

Most Welcoming: Progressive Baptist Church in Lafayette. At least 1/3 of the congregation shook our hands or hugged us. We hated to leave so fast after worship, but we had an appointment at Vermilionville! Xoxo

Best dancers (and best dressed young adults and most polite): Sunday night (4/26) Zydeco night at O'Darby's Sports Bar And Grill. Those people can dance!

Cleanest bathrooms: Oak Alley Plantation. Probably the nicest public bathrooms in the world.
(...Worst bathroom: We won't say where, but one of our guests has been to 42 countries and said it was the worst bathroom in the WORLD. Yikes. Obvz, We won't be back. We doubt you've ever been there so don't worry.)

Most seen persons: Group South - Jay. We saw him at Vermilionville, Cajun Food Tours, and his favorite watering hole.
We ❤️ Jay.
AND Group North met a couple on a walking tour in NOLA and we ran into them repeatedly all over the state!

Most dangerous stunt: Atchafalaya Basin Landing & Swamp Tours - our guide pulled a LARGE open-mouthed alligator out of the water by his jaw. We've been bring guests on tours for 25yrs... first time we saw this.

Most WOWs : Tabasco 's Jungle Gardens on Avery Island, LA. Gets 'em everytime!

Best Collection: Rural Museum in Baton Rouge. Impressive and 100% officially being added to our Damn Menu.

Most Laughs: Dance lessons with Ms
Marlene at Vermilionville. We tried to dance all over the place after that
Un-deux-trois-quartre!! 1 2 3 4 ! We were not winning any dancing awards.

Best caterers: The crawfish boilers at Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival . Holy moly, they were a well oiled machine! 44yrs of experience will do that. They let Group South back there to see how the magic happens. Super sweet folks! Their team was fast with the paper towels and killer washing station considering we were at a festival. A+

Best local band: Jourdan Thibodeaux et les Rodailleurs. Our favorite Cajun Pirates.
