Spring and its quaking energy has begun to vibrate my bones. In it awakens a long dormant fervor. My studio tipped into unbalance when the fumes fueling my practice finally sputtered out, cracking overnight as an old incandescent bulb does in an unprofound manner.

Thistles pop and quickly tower over the carpeting of newly hydrated grasses. Sharp, springy, and hiding edible fruit.

Gaining gnosis within the afternoon hours of my life, my legs grew, spindling around the crispy foliage during my childhood without knowledge of this information.

I feel this way with what I'd like to say. A spark. An awakening of knowledge.

Work that reflects on the traces the passage of time leaves. Residual marks remain on the physical, the psychological, and the environmental.

Friday, March 13, 6 - 9 PM: Exhibition Reception and Panel: Activism vs. Activation

This work reflects on the detachment from humanity we face within capitalist systems. These systems demand conformity, emotional sacrifice, and complacent silence. It churns with individualized power, unbalanced labor, and the erasure of the foundational voices it claims to serve.

Grateful to be included in conversation with the artists in this exhibition and to share space within the NUNU Arts & Culture Collective.
