As I sit here and reflect on the NFR and really the whole year that I’ve had, there’s a lot of emotions that run through me. I am extremely grateful and blessed to be able to make a living, living a little boy’s dream. I’ve had more fun this year than I’ve ever had, and my NFR wasn’t any different. Once I remembered how I got here, it was easy to start winning. Praise God for keeping me healthy and giving me the ability to ride bucking horses! Thank you to my family, my friends, and my sponsors for supporting me and having my back throughout the year! There were so many highs and lows, but that's the thrill of it!

I finished the 2025 season 4th in the world, and even though it wasn’t exactly where we intended for it to be, I am extremely happy with how I finished this week. I’m leaving Vegas with a different level of confidence and a mission on my mind for 2026. Let’s Geaux get the gold!

Position

What do you think of when you think of position?

What position did you play on a field? A position in a formation, a dance, or even a line maybe? If you’re like me, position on a horse?

Position: a place where someone or something is located or has been put

What happens if we are out of position?

When we are out of position, we are more likely to fail, than succeed; and/or accomplish the task at hand. Being out of position can cause the situation to take longer, or maybe just fail all together. Whoever the person is that originally put us in that “position”, say a coach for example, is probably going to correct us, and possibly even discipline us. So it’s safe to say that if we are where we are supposed to be, it’s more likely for us to succeed, right?

When I asked the original question, did you think about being out of position in life? Being out of position in your walk with Christ? Until I stumbled upon something I had written down in 2023, it didn’t come to my mind either. It truly humbled me when I read it. The truth is, this year I’ve been out of position in my walk with Christ more than I’ve been out of a position in a bucking horse. Have I nodded for Christ more times than I’ve nodded for a horse? Honestly, I don’t know. The answer should be “yes, everyday”, but the harsh reality is, I can’t say that I did that everyday. Are you fearful? Doubtful? Worrying about the uncontrollables or the future? That’s probably because you are out of position and trying to do it all on your own. I am that person too.

If we just turn to Christ, who is our teacher, our leader, our coach, and put our trust in Him, spend time with Him, and confide in Him; we will be put back in position. Position for what you may ask? Position to receive the blessings He has in store for us. Be in position for Him to give you the desires of your heart.

“Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.”

In conclusion, I want to say I am not perfect. I share these things when I feel like the Lord has put it on my heart to share. I fail more often than I succeed, I don’t always make the right choices. I don’t ever share something on social media with the mindset that I’m preaching; instead I’m just sharing what I needed to hear, in hope that the Lord is using me to help someone else. Jesus loves you!

“He gives strength to the weary, And to the one who lacks might He increases power.
