Companion Animal Hospital of Lafayette Companion Animal Hospital of Lafayette is owned and operated by Dr. Angie Sanders, DVM. Dr. Angie strives to provide a more comprehensive and individualized treatment plan for each patient in Lafayette, Louisiana, and all of Acadiana.

Are you ready to make a change and feel like you have more to give? Are you tired of not learning and only doing the same routine day to day and getting burned out? We are looking for a passionate veterinary technician to join a new small animal practice alongside Angie Sanders, DVM. Dr. Angie has been practicing for over 18 years and is launching her own hospital and is looking for that special team member to work with and train in order to build the best that Lafayette has to offer. You will get to be an integral part of the opening and growth of a state of the art practice right from the beginning. Position will be for a nurse that has passion for the detail in pet care and yearns to grow their knowledge base. Roles include (but not limited to): Learning and working with cloud based patient information system, client communication in terms of answering phone, answering client questions; obtaining pet history and entering medical information/notes and charges (must be able to type); assist veterinarian in surgeries, anesthetic monitoring and routine exams (need to have a tough stomach); good restraint techniques for dogs and cats of ALL personalities (it's a plus if you are experienced in feline restraint); assist in administering medications to pets in hospital and assist in pharmacy (must be able to count); cleaning duties (keeping hospital clean like you're own place), kennel cleaning, cleaning pet messes (with a smile on your face); walking dogs (many need assistance and may be large so need muscles). Our practice's culture will be based on providing a "low stress" environment to enhance patient recovery and treatment success and we are looking for that "rockstar" nurse to aid in achieving this.

Requirements: 1 year minimum experience, excellent work ethic and great attitude

Hourly pay based on experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $18.00 per hour based on experience

Schedule:

Day shift: 8-10hrs
Weekend shifts every other weekend
