A lot of people have been asking where the name “Hucha” came from, so here it is…

“Hucha” is Spanish (likely from Spain, oops!) for “Piggybank”. I chose this word because my brother (who… whether he knows this or not 😂, co-runs Hucha, and is a major influence in my cooking) and I have called each other (interchangeably) “Cash” and “Pig” our whole lives (a story for another time) We grew up in San Antonio so we chose a TexMex-ish name because we’re proud of our TexMex roots. Down the road Hucha plans to add a lot of TexMex cuisine that we’ve desperately missed being so far from our hometown.

We love all food, but for now, hucha will be starting this journey with these five pies. We’ve gone back and forth with a lot of different ideas, but these five made choosing a “Best”…impossible. Start analyzing the menu now, it will be a tough call. 🤔
