Research Triangle Terps Fans

The Terps came up with their second consecutive win last night, knocking off #25 (Coaches poll) Iowa. It has been a difficult season, but there was a lot of joy in Terpville last night with this result! There are 7 games remaining in the regular season, and now there's some legitimate hope that some of those games can be victories. It would be nice to finish strong!

The transition into the Buzz era has not been particularly smooth for the Terps, but we have the optimism and hope for next year with the stellar recruiting class we have joining us in the fall.

However, we have had an opportunity to enjoy a unique individual on this year's roster, David "Diggy" Coit, who has shown that he is not cowed by any circumstances he faces on the court, and yesterday was a gem that allowed us to win our first B1G game and knock off our nemesis to the North! He was oh-so-close to setting a new record for individual game points for a UMD player, finishing 1 point behind Ernie Graham's record. We probably won't have many more victories on the court this season, but Diggy has been fun to watch!

We had another delicious and enjoyable time at Backfins today, and we can't go wrong when we get Terp fans together for a gathering! It's almost time for the games to begin!

We got several members of our Terp crew together last night to eat at Backfins Crabhouse in Wake Forest. The food and the company are always enjoyable at these events, and maybe some of you will join us in the future! We're getting ready for the upcoming sports seasons.

After a nearly flawless first half, the Terps cruised through the rest of the game tonight to get a quarterfinal win against the Fighting Illini 88-65. Very few turnovers, stellar shooting from 3, suffocating defense, and a chance for the starters to rest in the second half in preparation for their game tomorrow against Michigan. The Terps were ready to go from the tip! Looking forward to a rematch from last week’s game in Ann Arbor…

It was great to get the first road game victory in Champaign-Urbana on Thursday night, and it was icing on the cake to pull out the victory today in Bloomington in the last 10 seconds! The 3-point shooting prowess for this team returned, paced by the 23 points from Rodney Rice, who was 5-7 for his 3’s. Jakobi Gillespie was solid again, with 18 points and 9 assists, and important contributions from Juju Reese (another double-double with 14 points, 10 rebounds), Selton Miguel (15 points, 3-6 from 3) and Derik Queen (11 rebounds). The Terps now know they can win on the road, and that should help their confidence immensely through the rest of this season. They showed great composure and grit to claim this victory.
